Things to do camping
We all sometimes struggle for things to do when we get away. It can almost be stressful trying to think of a fun activity to keep everyone amused. Don't worry, we list some of our top recommendations.
Walking / Hiking
Walking is a great activity that can be enjoyed by people of all fitness levels. It's a real stress-reliever and you will get to see the local area in all its glory. Well, if it has any glory. If it doesn't, walk as far as the local pub.
Cycling
Cycling is great exercise and easy on the joints. You'll get to see more of the area than walking too.
Fishing
Fishing isn't everyone's cup of tea but what other hobby supports itself by providing you with fun as well as a meal?
Photography
Bring a camera along and try your hand at taking pictures. Even if the pictures won't win any awards, they'll mean something to you and your family. You never know, you could have a hidden talent for it.
Be creative
Write a book, make notes of your trip, pen a poem for your loved one, get the guitar out and write some tunes. Anything goes - just express yourself.
Play games
Bring the cards and get everyone involved. In these days of portable consoles the art of the card game is dying out, keep it alive! If cards are too low-tech for you, bring along some board games.
Relax and get drunk
Seems obvious, but sometimes we can forget to relax. The reason you've gone camping is probably to escape the stress of work. You're allowed a few nights under the stars, reeling maybe just a bit.
